I distinctly remember the moment I submitted my first entry into the Let’s Get Married competition. It was some ungodly hour of the morning. I saw the comp after trawling Instagram for hours on end, trying to combat my bride infused insomnia. When I saw it I thought it was too good to be true, what really were my chances of winning- slim to none is honestly what I thought. But I had to enter, the prize was just too tempting. Matt and I submitted a video which we giggled and playfully argued our way through, candidly piecing together our love story. I could not believe our home video had won!
Every single supplier was so easy to work with and honestly, are so talented! Their ability to work seamlessly together made our wedding day run so smooth, without a hitch! I just feel so lucky. Winning this competition saved my crazy bridezilla brain from frying, eliminating all of the stress of the wedding allowing us to enjoy the process and lead up to our wedding. The Let’s Get Married competition isn’t just a competition. It’s a lifeline. It’s like having a bunch of friends who have the most amazing creative brains, who help you piece the puzzle of your wedding together. This competition is life changing.
Still to this day, we can’t believe we won. We don’t win anything let alone winning the best competition in Sydney! This competition made both Matt and I stop, reflect and appreciate ‘our love story’ and that was the greatest prize of all.
If I can pass on any advice to other couples wanting to participate in this competition, I would say, don’t be afraid of sharing your love story and being yourselves. Every love story is unique and special and it’s just amazing what can happen when you share your story to the world!
